Audio streaming services are most popular amongst listeners between the ages of 18-34. The general consensus is that this is the age group that has disposable income and has yet to settle on brand preferences. According to Edison Research data, millennials are expected to spend $200 billion annually starting in 2017, and $10 trillion over their lifetime solely on streaming audio content. That means this is the time for brands to step up and catch their attention to help establish brand loyalty.
Mobile advertisers are leading the way in terms of capturing the attention of millennials. According to Nielsen, over 85% of millennials own smartphones. Since 2014, 13-17 year olds have reported listening to more content by streaming audio than AM/FM radio.
